We were “The Circle Chasers of 2007.” An intimate, committed group of Crop Circle researchers and explorers from all over the world. We were a mix of intellectuals, artisans & druids with a common passion, and considered ourselves to be very fortunate pioneers. Every day was a treasure hunt and every night a mystery.
I slid into the tribe of devoted “Croppies” who met early every morning at the Silent Circle Cafe. We shared stories and whispers about the newest formations. Then headed out to find them which was not an easy task, unless of course you knew ‘the secret whereabouts’ or you were flying.
From the air the Crop Circles displayed incredible, intricate, 3-dimensional patterns. They were truly phenomenal works of art.
Many of us sat fearlessly night after night on the hillsides in the misty rain, chilled to the bone but unwilling to leave. In doing so, some of us were rewarded with interactions or sightings of highly charged electromagnetic fields of energy and/or the anomalous “Balls of Light” that have been seen (and filmed) creating Crop Circles. One of those films will take your breath away when you see it at the end of this movie. We discovered a bleep of communication between the 2 Balls of Light right before the field goes down! You have to see it to believe it!
The UK Crop Circles were huge, meticulous, mystifying and energetically buzzy. They were artistic wonders laid into fields of wheat, canola, barley and more. Crops were seamlessly swirled down into perfect circles, angles and pathways. Many had breathtaking centerpieces with the grain heads swept into stunning bouquets!
There were new formations almost every day this summer and most of them were spectacular! 53 Crop Circles were reported in the UK alone this year, 150 worldwide, and countless others that went unreported. We just had a ‘World Record’ Latest Crop Circle Ever (by 2 months) in England on November 15th, 2007.
I walked into crop formations day after day in awe. Silently and in a dreamlike state of consciousness, I was drawn to the center and laid down. I felt an indescribable ‘presence’ and saw things I hadn’t ever seen before.
I wasn’t alone.
After attending the 3 day Crop Circle Symposium in Glastonbury (the largest Crop Circle Lecture in the world), I had met most of the experts in the field and taken notes. That’s when it hit me to make the movie.
From that day forward I must have had an “other worldly co-producer” because it has been an effortless project. I was always in the exact right place at the exact right time. Everyone interviewed had incredible passion and real life experiences. Even the soundtrack was done by Croppies.
I hired a wonderful 4-man, 3-camera UK film crew for a 12 hour day and we nailed it. Our locations were inside the Crop Circles and Megalithic Stone Formations of Wiltshire England. We filmed on the only day the sun shone in weeks.
When I got home, all I wanted to do was edit. I hired a brilliant young editor for a solid month and we made the movie in my living room. It was an hour and 45 minutes long. Too long.
I traveled to Europe again and returned with a new vision. We re-cut the movie into 77 very focused minutes. You’ll feel like you’ve been there with us.

“ As you know, I have read a number of books on crop circles and seen most of the highly recommended films on the subject, of which Patty Greer’s is the best.
Having attended the 2005 Crop Circle Symposium in Glastonbury, England and visited first hand numerous crop circles, and listened to many authorities lecture on this phenomena, I have two conclusions:
First, I believe that anyone who looks into the crop circle phenomena with an open mind will be convinced that they are manifestations of some intelligence or power beyond human capability. The claims that these majestic mandalas in the fields are man made are beyond absurd in the face of the documented evidence and personal testimonies to the contrary. Which leads to my second conclusion:
"The Wake Up Call, Anybody Listening?" is by far the best documentary film on crop circles to date. Kudos to you, Patty Greer, for making the most informative, inspiring and beautifully crafted movie on this mind blowing subject of crop circles.
